Kolkata: Second edition of Kolkata Airtel Run for Education 2015

Kolkata, Nov 29 (IBNS) : The Kolkata Run for Education organized by Round Table India, the national social service organization, in association with Airtel, flagged off from Kolkata on Sunday.

The flag off witnessed the presence of former top cop Kiran Bedi, Harshvardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Group, along with Sanjay Agarwal, MD, Centuryply.

The flag off received the participation of around 7,000 runners from across Kolkata.

Speaking on the occasion,  Kiran Bedi said, “It gives me immense pleasure to be associated with such a noble cause. We can seek joy from the fact that many NGO’s will benefit from this. This is a way to get fitter and also contribute and show support for the deprived. We aim to educate the under privileged because they play a huge role in shaping the country’s future. Proper education will help the children to move ahead towards a brighter future.”

The event brought enthusiastic pro and novice runners on one platform defining the true spirit of humanity and sportsmanship. The initiative was taken by Round Table India in the year 2014. The inception year witnessed ardent participation from various walks of life, like corporate, students, families and many more.

The Marathon also observed the revered presence of Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO of West Bengal & Odisha, Bharti, Airtel. Feyago, a Producer, Cinematographer and Social Activist played the theme song which was specially created for the marathon.

The song was named Run for Education and it is now available as caller tune in all leading telecom service providers in India.

Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO of West Bengal & Odisha, Bharti Airtel while addressing the media said, “We are truly excited to be a part of Airtel Run for Education 2015, as it fosters our core brand essence of human connections and brings thousands of people together to celebrate the spirit of running. With the swelling ranks of participants registered for this year’s run, I am sure that this event would be a great success and go a long way to support the cause of education for underprivileged children.”
