Little surprised at Virat Kohli's decision to skip Afghanistan Test match: Michael Clarke

Kolkata, May 9 (IBNS): Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke is surprised at Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli's decision to skip an one-off Test match against Afghanistan for playing county cricket in England.

Clarke has expressed his view on Virat's decision at an interactive session in Kolkata on Wednesday.

When asked whether he would have preferred county cricket over national team, Clarke said: "I am bit surprised at Virat's decision. A Test match is a Test match....."

"Representing the country is the most special thing in the world....." the former Aussie skipper added.

Virat will play for Surrey as a preparation for India's upcoming Test series against England later this year.

India and Afghanistan will play the only Test match of the series in Bengaluru in June.

The match will be held between 14 to 18 June at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The match will mark Afghanistan's debut in the world of Test cricket.

Ajinkya Rahane will lead in the squad in the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli.
