Mamata Banerjee mourns hockey legend Mohammad Shahid's demise
Kolkta, July 20 (IBNS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday mourned the death of hockey legend Mohammad Shahid.
"Saddened to hear about the passing of great hockey player Mohd Shahid. One of India's greatest sportsmen. Condolences to his family, friends," Banerjee tweeted.
Shahid was a former Indian skipper and an Olympics Gold Medal winner.
He died on Wednesday morning after a prolonged battle with liver problems.
