Tianjin , Oct 14 (IBNS): Russian Tennis star Maria Sharapova defeated Peng Shuai to reach the final of the Tianjin Open on Saturday.

This will be her first WTA final appearance in almost two and a half years.

Maria defeated her opponent 6-3 6-1 in the semi-final clash.
The finals are the stage that I want to be at and where I want to do well," Maria was quoted as saying by WTA website.

"It has been a long road, so this is very rewarding, but I also know I have another match to play, so as much as I want to be happy and content, I know that I have an ambitious opponent in front of me," she said.
