Novak beats Federer to clinch 50th career title

Indian Wells, Mar 23 (IBNS): Serbian Tennis star Novak Djokovic defeated Swiss icon Roger Federer in the final of the BNP Paribas Open to lift the title on Sunday.

The Serb beat his opponent by 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-2.

Both the players battled to win the sets as they competed each other in clicnhing the match.

With this win, Djokovic clinched his 50th career title and the fourth Indian Wells crown.

"I thought overall it was a great match from my side, very solid, great intensity, great commitment to hit every ball," Djokovic was quoted as saying by atpworldtour.com.

He said: ""I was very focused in the present moment."
