Novak Djokovic beats Dominic Thiem to grab Australian Open title

Melbourne/IBNS: Showcasing his strong performance on the court, Serbian Tennis icon Novak Djokovic on Sunday clinched the Australian Open Men's Singles title by beating Dominic Thiem in a gripping five-set final here.

This was the Serbian's 17th Grand Slam victory.

Novak used all his experience and went deep to test his mental and physical strengths to defeat his spirited opponent who put up a strong show against the star.

Novak won the match by  6-4 4-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 margin.

With this victory, Novak touched his eighth title win at Melbourne Park.
