But India lost its momentum and fell to 195/8 with none of the lower order batsmen adding much to the total, with Pandey(11), Hardik Pandya(19), Nitish Rana(7), K Gowtaham(2), except Yadav who made a 37-ball 40. For Sri Lanka Akila Dananajaya and Praveen Jayawickrama taking three wickets each.

Sri Lanka lost Minod Bhanuka early to Gowtham who took his maiden international wicket. however, Fernando and Rajapakse made half centuries and steadied the Lankan innings. Their dismissal saw a Sri Lankan slide but the side had collectively done enough to see them through and they won the match in the 39th over.
