Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain begins Paris campaign with a win against Norwegian pugilist Sunniva
Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain reached the quarter-finals round of the women's 75kg event by defeating Norwegian pugilist Sunniva Hofstad in the ongoing Paris Olympics on Wednesday.
The win ensured Lovlina is now just a win away from ensuring a medal.
The Indian star began her Olympics campaign with a bang by beating Hofstad unanimously 5:0 in the women’s 75kg round of 16 bout.
Borgohain, a bronze medallist in the 69kg category at Tokyo 2020, entered the Olympics in the 75th kg category as the eighth seed.
She had won a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics.
In her next clash, she will now face Chinese boxer Li Qian.
She displayed her skill, defensive technique and determination in the match on Wednesday where she completely outclassed her opponent.
