Only Test: India win toss, elect to bat first against Afghanistan

Bengaluru, Jun 14 (IBNS): In an one-off Test match which marks the beginning of Afghanistan's journey in the longest format of the sport, India won the toss and elected to bat first at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Thursday.

This is the first time Afghanistan players are wearing their official white jerseys on field.

India are having right-handed batsman Ajinkya Rahane as the skipper for the Test match in absence of Virat Kohli.

Kohli had pulled himself out of the Test match to play county cricket, as a preparation for the upcoming England series.

However Kohli later suffered a injury to miss his county stint.
