New Delhi, July 27 (IBNS): A squad of 23 Players have reported for a pre-season training Camp for the National Team under National Coach Stephen Constantine in the Capital, an official release said.

Constantine informed that the “squad is made up of a combination of Academy and Club Players. Players from Bengaluru FC and East Bengal haven’t reported to the Camp.”

While BFC Players are preparing for their AFC Cup match, the East Bengal Players are busy in their preparations for the forthcoming Kolkata Premier League.

“The camp will be hugely beneficial to the Players. We have been trying to expand the squad and give opportunities to new ones and make a bigger pool of Players. This is another perfect example that had we not done that, we wouldn’t have been able to assemble Players for the Camp,” he stated.

Constantine has handed International debuts to 28 Players in the last 15 matches that he has been in charge for India.

“I didn’t hand them debuts for the sake of doing it. I felt they were good enough and hence, got their chance,” Constantine said.

The squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Subrata Paul, T.P Rehenesh, Laxmikant Kattimani, Albino Gomes.

Defenders: Pritam Kotal, Sandesh Jhingan, Fluganco Cardozo, Chinglesana Konsham Singh, Aiborlang Khongjee, , Koushik Sarkar, Gurjinder Kumar.

Midfielders: Isaac Chhakchhuak, Rowlin Borges, Dhanpal Ganesh, David Lalrinmuana, Vinit Rai, Germanpreet Singh, Pronoy Halder, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Jackichand Singh.

Forwards: Halicharan Narzary, Jeje Lalpekhlua, Sumeet Passi.
