Rafael Nadal crashes out of US Open
New York, Sept 5 (IBNS): Spanish Tennis star Rafael Nadal on Saturday was defeated by Italian Fabio Fognini in the US Open Men's singles event, ending his hopes of clinching the title here.
In a five-set thriller, Nadal was defeated by his opponent by 3-6 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4.
Feliciano Lopez of Spain will wait for the fourth round clash against Fognini.
This is the first time in ten years when Nadal will not win a single major grad slam title in the year.
He had won the US open title two times.
