Rahul smashes 100 no,Rayudu contribute 62 no to help India beat Zimbabwe

Harare, June 11 (IBNS): KL Rahul dominated the show and smashed an unbeaten 100 as he joined Ambati Rayudu (62) in a crucial second wicket partnership which helped India win the first ODI against host Zimbabwe by nine wickets here on Saturday.

After Indian bowlers dominated the show in the morning by bowling out the African side for 168 runs, it was Rahul and Rayudu's turn to display their class as they reached 173 runs by losing a wicket with 45 balls to spare.

India made a poor start to the run chase as they lost the wicket of

Karun Nair (7) early. Pacer Tendai Chatara picked up his wicket to give Zimbabwe early success.

Rayudu and Rahul then joined the proceedings as they added 162 runs in their partnership to help India manage an easy win at the end.

In his115-ball show, Rahul smashed seven boundaries and a six.

Rayudu hit five boundaries in his knock.
