Rajasthan win toss against Kolkata in top-of-table IPL match, opt to bowl first

Kolkata/IBNS: Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson won the toss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and elected to bowl first in the top-of-table IPL match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday (Apr 16).

Winning the toss here, RR captain Sanju Samson said, "We would like to bowl first. Might be better to chase on this wicket."

KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer said they are playing the same team.

In their home match, KKR, which hold the second position on the points table, are taking on Rajasthan Royals with an aim to reach the top position, replacing RR.

KKR have acquired 8 points in 5 matches and they are maintaining a net run rate of +1.688.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals hold the top position of the table with 10 points in 6 matches with a net run rate of +0.767. RR won five games and lost one.

Kolkata Knight Riders XI: Philip Salt(w), Sunil Narine, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Shreyas Iyer(c), Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh, Mitchell Starc, Varun Chakaravarthy, Harshit Rana.

Rajasthan Royals XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson(w/c), Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Kuldeep Sen, Yuzvendra Chahal.
