Recovering from injury, Petra Kvitova wins first match in French Open

Paris, May 28 (IBNS): Czech player Petra Kvitova advanced to the next round of the French Open by beating American Julia Boserup on Sunday.

Kvitova defeated her opponent 6-3 6-2.

After the defeat, she reached the second round of the tournament.

The player cried after winning the match.

She had suffered injury after she was stabbed during a burglary at her home in December.

After recovering, she picked up the racquet on Mar 12.

She started practising properly since May.
