Roger Federer tops ATP rankings list again, becomes oldest world number one

Zurich, Feb 17 (IBNS): Swiss Tennis superstar Roger Federer has once again touched the number one ranking position on the ATP list.

He is now the  oldest world number one in tennis history.

It was 14 years ago when he had topped the chart for the first time in his career.

The Swiss player had defeated  Robin Haase 4-6 6-1 6-1 in the last eight of the Rotterdam Open to replace Spain's Rafael Nadal in the topmost position in the rankings list.

By overtaking Spaniard Rafael Nadal at No. 1 on Monday, Federer will break a number of ATP Rankings records – the longest period between stints at No. 1, the oldest player to attain top spot and the longest duration between first and last days at the summit of men’s professional tennis, read the ATP website.

“It’s a little bit surreal,” Federer  was quoted as saying by the ATP website.
