Sachin, wife call on PM Modi

New Delhi, Oct 16 (IBNS) Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Thursday.

He was accompanied by his wife Anjali Tendulkar.

Tendulkar apprised the Prime Minister of his contribution towards the Swachh Bharat initiative, in response to the Prime Minister`s invitation to him on Oct 2.

He also informed the Prime Minister that he had extended the chain by inviting others to participate.

Tendulkar said he looked forward to adopting a village under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.

He also expressed keenness to work towards development of sports in schools and colleges.

Tendulkar later tweeted: "It was wonderful meeting Prime Minister Modiji. Enthusiastically heard thoughts on #SportsForAll."

"Shared his experience, interesting anecdotes and sound advice.... #SwachhBharat.. Swast Bharat.. Sach Bharat !!" he said.
