Sydney, June 29 (IBNS) The golden girl of Indian badminton Saina Nehwal, who had won a bronze medal in the Olympics two years ago, on Sunday clinched the Australian Super Series here by beating Carolina Marin of Spain on Sunday, thus giving herself the momentum to fight touch challenges in the year ahead.

The Indian star defeated her opponent 21-18, 21-11 to win the second title of the year.

The match lasted for 43 minutes.

Carolina Marin kept up the pressure on Saina but the Indian star continuously dominated the match though the first round of the clash remained a close encounter.
