Kolkata, May 26 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan has accepted his team's exit from the 11th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) gracefully, as the Bengal-based team lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs on Friday, at the former's home ground.

Immediately after the loss, Khan tweeted to say he will be cancelling his flight, which might have been to Mumbai where the IPL final will be played.

Simultaneously, the actor also appreciated his team performance in the entire tournament.

Khan's tweet reads, "Well was not to be. Will have to cancel my flight but KKR well done. U did yourself proud. All of u so so well done. Love you & yes I am smiling. Thks for the entertainment & so many moments of glory. V r an awesome team!" (sic)

This is not the first time Khan has tweeted for his team. Earlier, after a 102-run defeat against Mumbai Indians, the actor took to Twitter to apologise to fans for the poor performance of his team.

Khan tweeted, "Sports is about the spirit & wins/losses don’t reflect that. But tonite as the ‘Boss’ I need to apologise to the fans for the lack of spirit"

However Kolkata, which had a topsy-turvy journey in IPL 2018, won back-to-back three match after the Mumbai debacle to seal a berth in the playoffs.

Though Kolkata defeated Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator match, they were outplayed by Hyderabad in the second qualifier a day ago.
