Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi wish Indian eves for lifting Asian Champions Trophy

New Delhi, Nov 5 (IBNS): Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi on Saturday congratulated the Indian women's Hockey team for winning the 4th Asian Champions Trophy.

Quoting Sonia Gandhi, Congress tweeted: "Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi has congratulated the Indian Women's Hockey team for winning the Asian Champions Trophy."

"Smt. Gandhi said, this victory confirms India's supremacy in Hockey in Asia," the party said.

The Congress tweeted :"Smt. Gandhi has wished great success to all players and has called this win an unforgettable tribute to our national game."

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi also appreciated the players for their performance.

"Congratulations to the women's hockey team on winning the Asian Champions Trophy! Fantastic achievement & a proud moment for Indian hockey," Office of RG tweeted.

Dominating the hockey paradigm in Asia, India defeated China 2-1 in the final encounter  of the 4th Asian Champions Trophy to clinch the title on Saturday.
