Sports Minister announces cash award to Neeraj Chopra for World Record at IAAF world Under -20 athletics Championship

New Delhi, July 24 (IBNS): Minister of State (I/c) for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel has congratulated Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra for creating world record on way to the gold in the IAAF world Under -20 athletics Championship at Bydgoszcz, Poland on Saturday.
Neeraj Chopra’s 86.48 m effort gave India its first World record and the country’s first ever gold in any World Athletics Championship. 
 
Goel congratulated the young athlete on his remarkable feat.
 
He also announced that his Ministry will give Rs 10 Lakh cash award to Neeraj Chopra.
