Sports ministry announces names of Khel Ratna, Arjuna, Dronacharya award winners

New Delhi, Aug 22 (IBNS): The sports ministry on Tuesday announced the names of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Arjuna, Dronacharya and Dhyan Chand award winners, media reports said.

Paralympian star Devendra Jhajharia, gold winner in men's F46 Rio Olympics and  former Indian hockey skipper Sardar Singh will be given the Khel Ratna award.

Bhupender Singh (Athletics), Syed Shahid Hakim (Football) and Sumarai Tete (Hockey) will be rewarded with the Dhyan Chand awards.

Late Dr. R. Gandhi (athletics), Heera Nand Kataria (Kabaddi), G.S.S.V. Prasad (Badminton) (lifetime), Brij Bhushan Mohanty (Boxing) (lifetime), P.A. Raphel (Hockey) (lifetime), Sanjoy Chakraverthy (Shooting) (lifetime) and Roshan Lal (Wrestling) (lifetime) will be given the Dronacharya award.

Indian test cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara, Indian women's cricket team all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur, golfer SSP Chawrasia among others will be rewarded with the Arjuna award in 2017.
