Sri Lankan bowlers restricted Afghanistan to 144/8 in 20 overs in a Group 1 match of the T20 World Cup on Tuesday.

Though Afghanistan were looking for something over 150-mark, regular fall of wickets in the death overs kept them shy of around 15 more runs at the end.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the top scorer for Afghanistan with his 24-ball 28.

Wanindu Hasaranga cliched three wickets for 13 runs in four overs for Sri Lanka.

Hasanga's two wickets including the one of star player Rashid Khan in the death overs helped Sri Lanka to mute Afghanistan's lower order batting.
