U18 I-League: Midfielder Sanchayan Samadder to lead Maharashtra Zone champions Pune FC in final phase

Pune, Jan 27 (IBNS): Peninsula Pune FC Academy midfielder Sanchayan Samadder will lead Maharashtra Zone Champions Pune Football Club at the Final Phase of the Under-18 I-League 2015-16, in Kolkata.

Having topped the zonal phase for the second consecutive season, last year’s final phase runners-up Pune FC will be hoping to better their performance this time around and are clubbed alongside Salgaocar FC, East Bengal, Aizawl FC and Royal Wahingdoh in Group-B.

Pune FC begins their campaign against Goan-side Salgaocar FC on Friday, 29th January before facing Aizawl FC (January 31), Royal Wahingdoh (February 2) and home-side East Bengal (February 4) in the following week. All the Group-B matches will be played at the East Bengal Football Ground with top two teams qualifying for the semifinals.

The 20-man squad named by Coach Naushad Moosa is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Shainkhan P., Anuj Kumar, Debopriya Das

Defenders: Dimple Bhagat, Rajat Kumar, Sahil Panwar, Tarif Akhand, Harsharan Khabra, Sebastian Thangmuansang


Midfielders: Sanchayan Samadder, Sannik Murmu, Omega Vanlalhruaitluanga, Daniel Hmar, Chesterpaul Lyngdoh, Lalrinawma, Buanthanglun Samte, Muirang Wugngayam, Md. Yasir
