Uber: India beat Indonesia to reach semis

New Delhi, May 22 (IBNS): Beating Indonesia 3-0, India created history by entering the semi-finals of the Uber Cup here on Thursday.

Giving India a winning start, country's badminton icon Saina Nehwal defeated  Lindaweni Fanetri 21-17, 21-10  in the first single's clash.

The match lasted for 45 minutes.

PV Sindhu took India to a 2-0 lead by beating Bellaetrix Manuputty 21-16, 10-21, 25-23 .

Indian doubles pair of  Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa defeated Greysia Polii and Nitya Krishinda Maheswari to help India book a seat in the semi-finals of the tournament for the first time in its history.

The hosts will face Japan in the semi-finals clash.

Japan defeated Denmark 3-0  to cruise to the last four stage of the tournament.
