Udayjit Bhalotia claims Tolly Juniors Open 2016

Kolkata, Oct 5 (IBNS): Serial winner Udayjit Bhalotia completed yet another victory in the final event of 2016 season of the IGU Sub-Junior & Feeder Tour after carding a two-day gross of six-over 146 at the Tolly Juniors Open here at the Tollygunge Club on Wednesday.

Gurshaan Singh Grewal maintained his overnight second place by countback and Md. Rohit who matched each other’s first round scores for gross of 153, seven behind the winner.

Souvik Nayak claimed the Category B event after a much-improved final round of 154. Aditesh Bajaj was a distant second eleven strokes behind followed by Anish Rajak, who claimed the third place over Ayush Jha by countback.

Like Udayjit, Joysurjo Dey has dominated the season and he underlined the same today with a five stroke victory over Pinku Das. Joysurjo shot a gross of 154 after an overnight lead of six strokes. Aarnav Sharma is placed third a further eight strokes behind Pinku at 168.

Garv Lakhmani jumped from third place overnight to clinch the Category D title after carding a gross of 160. Overnight leader Manhar Bajoria was placed second three strokes behind at 163 followed by Maitreya Milan Saikia in third a further five strokes behind.

Amongst the Girls, Aashera Sethi piped Sushnata Deb on the second playoff hole after both were locked at 170 after 36 holes. Sanaya Tulsyan claimed the Category B title followed by Nandini Surekha. Tarushi Jain and Sinjini Mukherjee ran out winners in Category C & D respectively.

The open category E was won by Anshul Mishra with a gross of 76 while Prashant Agarwal took home the runners up trophy four strokes behind at 80.
