Understanding conditions is crucial for international cricketers: Ashwin

Dhaka, Feb 29 (IBNS): Indian spinner R Ashwin on Monday said adopting to different conditions is crucial for international cricketers than complaining about it.

"It is very important to know what conditions are thrown at you. You can’t try and beat the conditions. It is very important to go back and understand that it will not spin a lot on these surfaces," Ashwin said while addressing a press conference.

"That’s why it is even more imperative that we try to bowl in good lengths, get away with our overs rather than looking to go for wickets," he said.

He said the team is looking forward to the long season of T20 ahead and the achievement of the side.

"We are disrespecting any opponent. We have to treat everyone with same respect," Ashwin said on facing UAE in the Asia Cup later.

Speaking on Sri Lanka, Ashwin said they raise their standards during big games.

"Sri Lanka is a team we have played a lot and they can punch above their weight and play as a pack," Ashwin said.
