Virat Kohli becomes first Indian captain to win seven consecutive bilateral ODI series
Mumbai, Oct 30 (IBNS): After the 2-1 series victory against New Zealand, Virat Kohli has become the first Indian captain to win seven consecutive bilateral series.
Kohli, who took the charge of the ODI team this year, led the side to win bilateral series against teams like New Zealand, Australia, West Indies, England and Sri Lanka.
Kohli became the full time captain of the Indian side after Mahendra Singh Dhoni decided to quit his captaincy at the end of 2016.
Apart from his captaincy record, Kohli has also reached the 9000 runs in ODI, fastest to achieve the feat by any batsman.
In a match that went down to the end, Indian bowlers managed to script a memorable six runs victory over New Zealand to clinch series 2-1 here on Sunday.
After scoring 337 runs for the loss of four wickets, Indian bowlers restricted New Zealand to 331 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
