New Delhi/IBNS: Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli on Tuesday practiced with his Delhi Ranji teammates at the Arun Jaitley Stadium here as the senior batter is set for a comeback into the domestic circuit after 12 years.

Kohli, who is going through a lean patch with the bat, warmed up with a light football session with his teammates and then headed to the nets for a batting session.

The former India captain started off his session playing spin bowlers Sumit Mathur, Harsh Tyagi and Shivam Sharma and then prepared to face fast bowler Navdeep Saini.

The senior cricketer, who is in search of his lost form, also gave an autograph to his childhood friend's son.

Kohli will play in Delhi's upcoming match against Railways scheduled to begin on January 30.

He had opted out of the previous match against Saurashtra over a neck sprain.

Like several of his teammates including India captain Rohit Sharma, Kohli returned to domestic cricket after the Indian board BCCI acted tough on several players over the poor form in recent times.

Kohli was one of the senior players who failed to perform in Australia where the national side suffered a crushing 1-3 defeat in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

The 36-year-old started off the Australia tour with a century in the inaugural Test but ended up scoring only 191 runs in nine innings.
