Virat Kohli's India look to consolidate lead against England as third Test begins today

| @indiablooms | Aug 25, 2021, at 04:31 pm

Leeds/IBNS: India will look to consolidate their lead in the five-match Test series against England as the third contest is set to begin here Wednesday.

After pulling off a stunning victory against England in the second Test at Lord's in London, India are ahead in the series 1-0.

India had won the second Test by 151 runs days after the first match ended in a draw.

In a big relief for Indian skipper Virat Kohli, his pace battery as well as key batsmen, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, who were not amongst runs, turned out to be game changers at Lord's.

It is yet to be made clear by the Indian team management whether lead spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin, who was left out in London, will be back in the playing XI or not.

The play is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm IST.
