We needed to make amends after defeat against Ireland: Holder

Christchurch, Feb 21 (IBNS): Registering a 150 runs win over Pakistan, West Indies skipper Jason Holder said his side needed to make 'amends ' in this match after losing the first encounter of the World Cup against Ireland.

"We lost the first game and we needed to make amends here, really pleased we did that," he said in a post match ceremony.

Appreciating his batsmen and  Jerome Taylor, he said: "Wonderful performance, batted really well. Russell and Sammy and Simmons and Ramdin really put their hand up at the end. Jerome Taylor bowled brilliantly and I supported him well, and we applied a lot of pressure with those early wickets."

West Indies bounced back strongly to defeat Asian cricket giant Pakistan by 150 runs here on Saturday.
