Yubrani Banerjee lifts Rendez-Vous A Roland Garros - BTA - AITA National Series Tennis Tournament title

Kolkata, Mar 25 (IBNS): Bengal's Yubrani Banerjee lifts the Girls Singles Under 18 title at the just concluded Rendez-Vous A Roland Garros - BTA - AITA National Series Tennis Tournament 2017, been held at the red clay courts of the Dakshin Kalikata Sansad.

Banerjee, seeded 3 in the draw did not have to sweat much to drub Karnataka's Pratibha Prasad Narayan in a straight 6-3,6-4. Banerjee, apart from pocketing 75 national ranking point also received a special award of Rs 25,000 from the Bengal Tennis Association as a token of appreciation for her outstanding performance.

The Boys Under 18 Singles final witnessed an outstanding display of guts, skill and endurance as the 2nd seeded Rishabh Sharda from Chandigarh took a little above 2 hr and 20 minutes to claim the champion's trophy. He beat Assam's Parikshit Somani by a marathon 6-7(2),6-0,7-6(5).
