Zaheer Abbas to be nominated for ICC presidency?

Islamabad, June 2 (IBNS): The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to name former skipper Zaheer Abbas for ICC presidency, media reports said on Tuesday.

"The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided on the name of legendary former batsman and Test captain Zaheer Abbas as the nominee for the presidency of the game’s world governing body, Geo News has learnt," Geo News reported.

Former Pakistan cricket chief Najam Sethi earlier his nomination to ICC Presidency.

In a letter to ICC President N. Srinivasin dispatched this morning, Najam Sethi wrote: “Since the ICC announcement that from next year the post of ICC President will be open only to iconic Test cricketers nominated by member Boards, I have increasingly felt that it is only fitting that this rule should be implemented straightaway so that one of Pakistan's great iconic cricketers should be so honoured.”
