Air India Express woos flyers with ‘Book Direct’ deals

Air India Express has rolled out a new “Book Direct” campaign, encouraging passengers to book tickets directly through its website or mobile app.

The airline is offering discounts of up to 20% via promo codes and select bank offers. Travellers booking directly will also save on convenience fees when paying through the app or net banking.

The scheme covers the airline’s full network of 41 domestic and 17 international destinations, making it easier — and cheaper — to plan trips.

Students and senior citizens receive a minimum 6% discount, while armed forces personnel and their dependants can get up to 50% off.

According to the airline, these savings can be combined with ongoing offers, potentially totalling up to 70%.

Air India Express also offers a “Fare Lock” service that allows passengers to secure fares for up to seven days by paying a nominal fee.

Mastercard debit and credit card users can get discounts of 250 rupees on domestic flights and 600 rupees on international flights.

Passengers who pre-book meals on the website or app can save up to 50%. The airline’s “Gourmair” meals are available up to 18 hours before international flights and 12 hours before domestic flights, in addition to a buy-on-board menu.

The airline has introduced fare options under categories such as Xpress Lite, for passengers without check-in baggage; Xpress Value, which includes 15 kilograms of baggage; and Xpress Flex, allowing last-minute flight changes.

Xpress Biz fares come with a 25% discount, while Biz Upgrades on domestic routes are available at 20% off.

Air India Express said the campaign emphasises transparent pricing, flexible options, and tailored services under its brand promise, “Fly As You Are”.
