Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates/IBNS: Etihad Aviation Group teamed up with New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) last week to host a workshop at its Head Office on the “UAE Healthy Future” initiative.

An expert team from NYU Abu Dhabi briefed participants about the importance of the initiative, which aims to shed light on the causes and prevention of obesity, diabetes and heart disease in the UAE, and explained how it will contribute to improving the health of present and future generations.

The event reflects Etihad’s ongoing commitment to supporting the national agenda of the UAE by working closely with public and private entities.

The “UAE Healthy Future” study was launched by Abu Dhabi Department of Health and NYU Abu Dhabi to build a healthier future, and seeks to enroll 20,000 Emiratis between 18 and 40 to find out how lifestyles, dietary habits and genetic make-up impact public health.

The initiative has gained further significance following the announcement of “2020: Towards the Next 50”, which includes healthcare as a key focus area.
