National, Sept 10 (IBNS): : In-line with Its vision of increasing point-to-point connectivity, IndiGo, a leading airline, on Tuesday announced its daily direct flight between Amritsar and Sharjah, effective Oct 1, 2019.

With the launch of this flight, IndiGo will be the first airline to provide direct connectivity between Amritsar and Sharjah.

This is IndiGo’s second flight from Amritsar connecting a destination in UAE, after the launch of flight to Dubai last year.

William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “We are pleased to announce the first direct connection between Amritsar and Sharjah, which will also be our second non-stop flight from Punjab to UAE. As Punjab government works towards increasing industrialization and investment in the state, the direct connections with UAE will not only enhance mobility but also promote trade opportunities between the two regions. As UAE finalises its plans for a mega food park in Punjab, increased connectivity will be an enabler for channelizing the business potential into commercial opportunities. These connections will also strengthen IndiGo’s presence in UAE and the Middle-east market”.

Boulter further added, “IndiGo will continue to expand its network in middle-east to meet the requirements of both business and leisure travellers. It is our constant endeavour to provide flexibility of choice to our customers as IndiGo continues to offer them on-time, affordable, courteous and hassle-free flying experience always”.
