Jammu and Kashmir's Gulmarg welcomed 1.65 million tourists in 2023

Jammu and Kashmir's Gulmarg region, which is a popular ski resort in the UT,  welcomed 1.65 million tourists in 2023.

The destination drew visitors seeking winter sports and scenic tranquillity. The influx underscores Gulmarg’s status as a top-tier destination, reported Kashmir Life.

Assistant Director of Tourism, Gulmarg, Javeed-ur-Rehman told the news portal: "Gulmarg is a winter tourism jewel, offering skiing, mesmerising views, and Kashmiri hospitality."

Gulmarg witnessed 10,000 tourists, with foreign arrivals set to increase during winter activities on Christmas Eve.

“Let Gulmarg enchant you, and may our people’s hospitality create lasting memories,” Rehman said.

An official from the tourism department told Kashmir Life that the 2023 tourist influx details. In January, 95,989 tourists visited, including 69,383 domestic, 26,149 local, and 457 foreigners. February recorded 92,412 arrivals, March 119,350, April 136,096, and May 154,284.
