22 killed in Pakistan blast

Peshawar, Dec 13 (IBNS): At least 22 people were killed as a blast ripped through a clothes market in Kurram Agency's Parachinar area in Pakistan on Sunday, media reports said.

The blast left several others injured.

Hospital sources told DawnNews that 55 people were injured as a result of the blast out of which more than 15 victims are in critical condition.

A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) official told DawnNews , "It was a timed device bomb. Around 30 to 35 kilograms of explosives were used in the blast."

The injured people were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Dawn News claimed that a sectarian outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) claimed responsibility for the attack.
