Kabul: A woman activist, who was taking part in a protest demonstration in Kabul seeking political rights under the Taliban rule, was beaten leaving her with head injuries.

Blood streamed from the wound to the face of the injured woman, a video showed.

Women’s rights activists took to the streets demanding the political inclusion of Afghan women but were stopped from reaching the presidential palace by the Taliban fighters who lobbed tear gas shells, reported Tolo News.

The Taliban resorted to tear gas to disperse the all-women protest group after they failed to do so by firing bullets, show video clips shared by journalists and other people on social media.

The Khaama Press News Agency reported that the Taliban asked the journalists to leave the scene as they fired gunshots to disperse the women.

On Saturday, the women activists took out the fourth protest march. Earlier, the women demonstrated in the western Herat province and in the Afghan capital, respectively.
