Kabul, July 28 (IBNS): An attack is underway in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, where several explosions have been heard.

The incident is taking place in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital.

Quoting sources, local Tolo News reported that insurgents have attacked the Ministry of Public Health’s midwife training center in the area.

The network tweeted: "#Jalalabad – plumes of black smoke rise close to the Ministry of Public Health’s midwife training center after a number of explosions were heard in what is believed to be an ongoing complex attack #Nangarhar."

Attaullah Khogyani, the provincial governor spokesperson, has confirmed both the attack and the explosions.
