Kabul, Dec 11 (IBNS) :Four people were killed and six wounded after a bomb detonated next to a convoy of Afghanistan's top intelligence officers in Kabul on Tuesday morning, reports said.

The large blast is reported to have hit the convoy of the National Directorate for Security the Paghman district of Kabul, located in the northwest of the country's capital.

The explosion was caused by a suicide bomber, Reuters reported, but other reports say it was caused by a car bomb.

The area is reportedly closed to traffic and helicopters have landed.

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid appeared to claim responsibility, giving details of the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but both the Taliban and ISIS operate in the country.

Last month, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani announced a roadmap to peace between the Afghan government and the Taliban, hoping to end a war started after a US-led coalition invaded in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks
