Kabul, July 5 (IBNS) The Taliban has said they have carried out a rocket attack on oil tankers in Paghman district outside Afghanistan capital Kabul on Friday, media reports said on Saturday.

At least 400 tankers, which were reportedly carrying oil for security forces, caught fire following the attack which took place at around  10:40 pm (local time) on Friday.

Fire fighters are still fighting to douse the flame.

The Paghman district police chief Col. Amrullah told Pajhwok Afghan News 250 vehicles were moved to safety from the site but more than 400 had been torched.

"Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid militants set on fire hundreds of tankers supplying logistics for foreign forces," Pajhwok Afghan News reported.

It is still unclear whether there were any casualties in the attack.
