Afghanistan: Roadside bombing kills six civilians

Jalalabad, Feb 20 (IBNS): A roadside bombing in Qarghayo district of eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan left at least six civilians killed, media reports said.

Governor’s spokesman, Asadullah Dawlatzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a roadside bomb targeted a civilian vehicle near Surkhakan Refugee Camp in Qarghayo district around 11am today.

All the deceased were reportedly civilians.

The mine was previously planted in the area and went off when the vehicle reached it, reported the Afghanistan-based news agency.

Security forces reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
