| @indiablooms | Aug 26, 2021, at 03:41 am

Kabul:  The Shia Ulema Council on Tuesday asked Taliban insurgents, who overran Kabul on Aug 15, to ensure that they will treat all faiths and ethnicities with equality and justice.

The council said the next government should ensure the participation of all religions and ethnicities, reports Tolo News.

The clerics said the insurgents should ensure the safety and security of women and minorities.

“The Shia people never support violence and war, they all support peace,” Ayatollah Salehi, a Shia cleric, told Tolo News.

“The declaration clarifies the working framework of the Afghanistan Shia Ulema Council,” Sayed Hussain Alimi Balkhi, a cleric, was quoted as saying by the news portal.
