Afghanistan: Taliban members publicly flog two women, a male for committing adultery

Kabul: Two women and a male were  flogged and shamed for the crime of adultery in southern Afghanistan following the ruling given by  Zabul province’s appellate court, media reports said on Monday.

The Taliban’s Director of Information and Culture department for Zabul province, Mawlawi Rahmatullah Hammad Niazi, told the media on Sunday, August 8, that two women and one man had each received a two-year term of imprisonment for adultery, reports Khaama Press.

The Taliban earlier arrested these individuals for the offense of adultery before publicly whipping them.

The Taliban forces took control over Kabul on Aug 15.
