Afghanistan: Twin blasts in Kandahar injure Governor, UAE Ambassador

Kabul. Jan 11 (IBNS): The Governor of Kandahar province and the UAE Ambassador to Afghanistan was injured in a twin blast which rocked the province, local Khaama Press reported.

At least 11 people also died and 12 sustained injuries in the aforementioned blast.

The agency quoted senior police officials as saying that the health condition of both the Kandahar Governor and the UAE Ambassador is 'satisfactory'.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Earlier, a similar explosion in Kabul killed at least 30 people and injured dozens.
