Kabul: At least two people died and 20 others were hurt as armed clashes erupted between Pakistan’s border guards and the Taliban on Thursday in Chaman, Spin Boldak crossing point, media reports said.

Afghanistan's Taliban government claimed that the Pakistani forces have fired the first bullet, reports Khaama Press.

Spokesperson of Taliban government Zabiullah Muhahid in a tweet said that the situation has been controlled and that they are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, sources in Kandahar told IBNS Pakistani border guards beat an Afghan child at the Spin Boldak Gate and Afghan security forces opened fire on Pakistani border guards in the area.

The gate was closed to traffic after the incident.

Sources told IBNS that after the incident, the armed forces from Afghanistan's Al-Badr corps arrived at the scene and were preparing to respond to the Pakistani border guards.
