Washington/Xinhua/UNI: At least 15 people were injured and no one was reported dead Friday in an explosion at an aviation plant in Wichita, the U.S. state of Kansas, according to U.S. media reports.

Citing Sedgwick County dispatchers, local media reported that the explosion happen around 8 a.m. CT (1400 GMT) at Beechcraft's Plant 3 in east Wichita, a city in south-central Kansas.

Eleven people were taken to hospitals and four were treated at the scene. No one was killed, but one person has potentially serious injuries, according to the county's emergency medical services.

The explosion involved a nitrogen tank and posed no risk to nearby residents, according to the media reports.

Wichita Fire Department is on the scene to tackle the situation, and Sedgwick County on its Twitter account urged traffic to avoid the nearby road.

Beechcraft is a brand of Wichita-based Textron Aviation Inc. It manufactures single- and twin-engine jets.
