Baloch leader calls on UN, media to expose alleged rights abuses in Balochistan

Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch has invited members of the United Nations Security Council, the European Parliament, human rights organizations, OIC member states, global media, and the international community to visit Balochistan to witness, firsthand, what he described as the ground realities allegedly being hidden by Pakistan and its military.

In an X post, Baloch stated that Balochistan would take full responsibility for the safety and security of all international guests and dignitaries. With the cooperation of local authorities, Baloch representatives, and the public, visitors would be facilitated to travel throughout the region.

Baloch added: “We will also take guests to the mass graves in Balochistan, where DNA samples can be collected and matched with families so that justice may be delivered to loved ones who have been missing for decades and whom the Pakistani army has forcibly detained over the past eight decades.”

He further emphasized: “International delegations will be taken to the gas fields of Dera Bugti and Sui, the gold mines of Saindak and Reko Dik, and the coal mines of Mach, Harnai, and Chamaling to witness the exploitation of the local Baloch people.”

Baloch called for Baloch representatives to be invited to the United Nations Security Council to share their account of oppression and brutality inflicted by the Pakistani army. He urged Pakistan to end the practice of labeling Balochistan as a hub of “terrorism” to justify alleged war crimes before the international community.

Meanwhile, the Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing at a mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan, which killed at least 69 people and injured over 160 on Friday, according to media reports.

The attack occurred at the Tarlai Imambargah, a Shia place of worship in Shehzad Town, during afternoon prayers. The SITE Intelligence Group reported that a militant detonated an explosive vest at the main gate, causing extensive damage to the entrance and nearby buildings, shattering windows and scattering debris across the road.

This attack comes less than three months after a suicide bombing outside a district and sessions court in Islamabad on November 11, 2025, which killed 12 people and injured more than 30.
