Bangladesh: 12 people die due to COVID-19 in Rajshahi hospital in past 24 hours

Rajshahi: At least 12 patients died due to COVID-19 at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital's COVID-19 unit in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, media reports said on Friday.

Five others died while displaying symptoms consistent with the disease, according to the hospital's Director Brig Gen Shameem Yazdany. Among those who tested positive for COVID-19, 10 were from Rajshahi district and three from Chapainawabganj, reports bdnews24.

  The hospital admitted 76 patients to its COVID unit in the past 24 hours, said Yaznany.

During the past 24 hours,  55 people were discharged after recovering from the disease.

Bangladesh is currently fighting a tough COVID-19 situation.
