Bangladesh: 8 killed as trawler sinks in Buriganga River

Dhaka, Apr 2 (IBNS): At least eight bodies have been recovered after a trawler sank in the Buriganga River at Dhaka’s Keraniganj area, media reports said on Thursday.

"The trawler, with nearly 80 passengers on board, overturned after it was hit by a sand-laden cargo vessel near Narayanganj on Thursday," bdnews24.com reported.

The mishap occurred at 12:45pm.

Many people are still feared to be missing.
